THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
FAR SOUTHEAST ALABAMA
FLORIDA PANHANDLE
FAR SOUTHWEST GEORGIA
COASTAL WATERS
EFFECTIVE THIS SATURDAY MORNING FROM 120 AM UNTIL 800 AM CDT.
TORNADOES...HAIL TO 1.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND
GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE
AREAS.
THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 50 STATUTE
MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 25 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF
DOTHAN ALABAMA TO 30 MILES SOUTH OF PANAMA CITY FLORIDA. FOR A

WW THROUGH THE NIGHT AS AIR MASS DESTABILIZES WITH INCREASING SLY
LOW LEVEL FLOW OFF OF THE GULF OF MEXICO. SHEAR WILL REMAIN MORE
THAN ADEQUATE FOR SUPERCELLS...WITH STEEP LAPSE RATES FOSTERING
LARGE HAIL POTENTIAL. ISOLATED TORNADO/WIND DAMAGE THREAT IS ALSO
POSSIBLE GIVEN VERY STRONG LOW LEVEL SHEAR AND CONTINUED
MOISTENING/DESTABILIZATION OF THE BOUNDARY LAYER OVERNIGHT.
