8 PM WITHIN A NARROW BAND ACROSS NORTHWEST ALABAMA. SNOWFALL UP
TO 2 INCHES HAS ALREADY BEEN REPORTED BETWEEN THE NATCHEZ TRACE
PARKWAY AND HIGHWAY 17...NORTH OF FLORENCE. AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO
2 INCHES OF SNOW CAN BE EXPECTED WITHIN THIS BAND BEFORE IT
GRADUALLY ENDS WEST-TO-EAST BY 8 PM. MOST OF THE SNOW WILL
ACCUMULATE ON GRASSY AND EXPOSED METAL SURFACES...BUT LESS
TRAVELED ROADS...BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES...WILL BECOME ICY AND
DANGEROUS.
EVEN AFTER THE PRECIPITATION ENDS...STANDING WATER ON ROADS WILL
LIKELY FREEZE AS TEMPERATURES FALL INTO THE UPPER 20S TO AROUND
30 DEGREES BY DAYBREAK.

RAIN...SLEET AND SNOW ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL ALABAMA.
LATER THIS EVENING...NORTHEAST ALABAMA WILL BEGIN TO SEE THE
IMPACTS OF THE WINTRY PRECIPITATION...ESPECIALLY IN THE HIGHER
ELEVATIONS OF THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU. ANY SLEET OR SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE UNDER 1/2 INCH...BUT LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS
