...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CST
TONIGHT...

RAIN IS BEGINNING TO MIX WITH SLEET AND SNOW ACROSS PORTIONS OF
NORTHWEST ALABAMA. AS COLDER AIR CONTINUES TO WRAP AROUND THE LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM...LOOK FOR PRECIPITATION TO BRIEFLY CHANGE OVER
TO ALL SNOW BEFORE ENDING THIS EVENING. BRIEF BURSTS OF MODERATE
TO HEAVY SLEET OR SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE THROUGH 9 PM. SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS UP TO 1 INCH CAN BE EXPECTED...MAINLY ON GRASSY
SURFACES...WITH LOCAL ACCUMULATIONS UP TO 2 INCHES. AS
TEMPERATURES FALL TO AROUND FREEZING...SLICK SPOTS WILL DEVELOP
ON ROADWAYS...ESPECIALLY ELEVATED SURFACES SUCH AS BRIDGES AND
OVERPASSES.

EVEN AFTER THE PRECIPITATION ENDS...STANDING WATER ON ROADS WILL
LIKELY FREEZE AS TEMPERATURES FALL INTO THE UPPER 20S TO AROUND 30
DEGREES BY DAYBREAK.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW
WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW
COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CST
TONIGHT...

LIGHT RAIN OR DRIZZLE WILL PERSIST THROUGH 6 PM ACROSS PORTIONS OF
NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST ALABAMA...AND SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE.
A BAND OF HEAVIER PRECIPITATION THAT EXTENDS FROM CENTRAL
TENNESSEE TO EAST CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI WILL GRADUALLY SLIDE EAST
THIS EVENING...IMPACTING AREAS EAST OF I-65 AFTER 6 PM. RAIN MAY
INITIALLY OCCUR...BUT AS COLDER AIR FILTERS IN BEHIND THE STORM
SYSTEM...THE RAIN WILL QUICKLY MIX WITH OR CHANGE TO SLEET OR
SNOW. BRIEF BURSTS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW MAY OCCUR...WITH
ACCUMULATIONS UP TO 1 INCH POSSIBLE...MAINLY ON GRASSY SURFACES.
HOWEVER...AS TEMPERATURES FALL TO AROUND FREEZING THIS EVENING...
SLICK SPOTS WILL DEVELOP...ESPECIALLY IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN AND ON
BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES.
