THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BIRMINGHAM HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO
8 AM CST SATURDAY MORNING.

A WINTRY MIXTURE OF PRECIPITATION WILL SPREAD WEST TO EAST ACROSS
NORTH CENTRAL ALABAMA TONIGHT. AREAS WEST OF INTERSTATE 65 WILL
EXPERIENCE THE ONSET OF PRECIPITATION MAINLY BETWEEN 6 PM AND 8
PM...WHILE AREAS EAST OF INTERSTATE 65 WILL START MAINLY BETWEEN
8 PM AND 10 PM. ICE ACCUMULATIONS WILL GENERALLY BE AROUND ONE
TENTH OF AN INCH AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS UP TO ONE HALF OF AN
INCH ARE POSSIBLE. TEMPERATURES OVERNIGHT WILL HOVER NEAR THE FREEZING
MARK. SLICK SPOTS ARE ANTICIPATED ON AREA ROADWAYS...ESPECIALLY ON
ELEVATED AND EXPOSED SURFACES SUCH AS BRIDGES...OVERPASSES...TREES...
AND POWER LINES. THE PRECIPITATION WILL END SHORTLY AFTER SUNRISE
IN THE ADVISORY AREA. TEMPERATURES WILL RISE ABOVE FREEZING BY
SATURDAY AFTERNOON MELTING ANY ICE THAT ACCUMULATES.
