THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
SOUTHWESTERN ALABAMA
SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA
SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI
COASTAL WATERS
EFFECTIVE THIS THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY MORNING FROM 845 PM
UNTIL 400 AM CST.
TORNADOES...HAIL TO 0.5 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND
GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE
AREAS.
THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 85 STATUTE
MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 40 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF
MC COMB MISSISSIPPI TO 35 MILES NORTHEAST OF MOBILE ALABAMA. FOR

REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

DISCUSSION...INTENSE MID/UPPER LEVEL TROUGH NOW APPROACHING THE
LOWER MS RIVER VALLEY WILL CONTINUE TO FOCUS ONE OR MORE LINES OF
THUNDERSTORMS SPREADING EWD ACROSS WW OVERNIGHT. LOW LEVEL SHEAR
WILL REMAIN QUITE STRONG WITHIN FEED OF SEASONABLY MOIST MARINE AIR
OFF THE GULF OF MEXICO. CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN FAVORABLE FOR A
THREAT OF ISOLATED TORNADOES AND/OR DAMAGING WINDS.
AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 0.5 INCH. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE
