DRY AGAIN WEDNESDAY, THEN MORE RAIN: Clouds finally moved out last
night and left Alabama clear and cold this morning. One of the lowest
temperatures was at Black Creek in NE Etowah County where it was 27
with moderate to heavy frost. That is an interesting weather spot in
Alabama and I will write a story about it soon.

You could not ask for a prettier day--brilliant blue sky, a bit
chilly, but a great contrast to yesterday. Now we look westward for
our next weather show and that will be more rain and a good amount of
it at that. Look for another dry day tomorrow, but clouds will
increase Wednesday night. Showers will start early Thursday and become
more numerous in the afternoon and at night along with a few
thunderstorms thrown in for good measure. Those will extend well into
Friday. The best estimate now is that Central Alabama will get about 2
inches of rain in this event, but as much as 3 inches in parts of
West-Central and SW Alabama. See our day-by-day forecast for all of
the details.

66 BELOW ZERO WIND CHILL IN ALASKA: Yep, it happened at good old
Deadhorse today. The temperature was 41 below, but there was enough
wind to send the wind chill to 66 below. It is getting quite cold over
Alaska and across the North Pole again. Even out in the Western
Aleutians, it was 30 below this morning at King Salmon. The coldest in
Alaska was 46 below at Nuiqsut. It was 62 below at Ojmjakon, Siberia.
There is now 72 inches of snow on the ground at Whittier, Alaska. That
is another very interesting weather spot that I will write about one
day. Down here in the lower 48, the coldest this morning was 27 below
at Antero Reservoir in North-Central Colorado. There is still a lot of
discomfort out on the Eastern Plains of Colorado from the last
snowstorm. In the SE part of the state, US-50 was still closed this
morning due to drifting snow and US-160 was closed from Trinidad to
the Kansas border. Still about 15 inches of snow in areas in and
around Denver and 40 inches at Bailey, Colorado.

MY TINY CORNER OF THE WORLD: Seems like we could see from here to
Chattanooga when Little Miss Molly and I took our morning walk. The
landscape was so sharp and clear. There was no haze or fog. The Old
Crow Motel stood out like a huge discombobulated tree (that is what it
is). Even the Old Crow Creek was running again after our recent heavy
rain. We met a lady along the track who was looking for her missing
dog. It disappeared from a home not far away. We will keep our eyes
open. Little Miss Molly has been the recipient of quite a bit of
playtime in the last 24 hours. Have you ever seen a more exciting
football game than the Oklahoma-Boise State Fiesta Bowl last night.
Life goes on if we can live through all the football.

LOOKING FOR AN ALARM SYSTEM?
CALL PRESTIGE ALARMS--WE ARE DIFFERENT.
GIVE US A CHANCE!

Prestige Alarm specializes in monitoring security systems
without the use of expensive phone lines or unreliable cell phones.

How do we do this? Prestige Alarm is one of the few companies
who monitors with an UL listed FCC licensed radio network.
In a typical system, if your phone line is cut or fails,
then you have no communication to the outside world.

Since we do not use phone lines, we can still dispatch the
fire or police when the emergency requires. Despite cut
phone lines, storms or over worked cell phones, we still
get the signal through.

We do not offer the free systems like some of the other
security companies. But you do not want to trust in free
equipment to protect the people who are close to you.

Call Prestige Alarm today to get the best alarm for your
home. Ask for Eddie or Amie. 205.956.4811
