APRIL IN DECEMBER: These balmy temperatures bathing Alabama are more
like we should have in early April than mid December. We do not see
any reason that those will drop appreciably anytime soon. It looks
like mild weather will continue until at least the middle of next
week. Along with the mildness will be dry weather all the way through
the weekend. It will be fairly cool tonight and for the next several
nights, but afternoons will feature temperatures in the low 70s all
across Central Alabama.

Virtually the whole state got rain yesterday. The amounts were rather
variable with one of the heavier amounts over 1 inch in Demopolis.
Over on the east side of the state, the amounts were lighter. We were
hoping for some good amounts up in NE Alabama, where there have been
some forest fire problems.

EARLY LOOK AT FOOTBALL WEATHER: The SWAC Championship game is not
until Saturday afternoon at Legion Field between Alabama A&M and
Arkansas-Pine Bluff. However, it looks great with mostly sunny mild
weather and peak temperatures during the game around 73. We will have
a more specific forecast about Friday.

THE WORLD OF WEATHER IS ALWAYS INTERESTING: Did you know that the 15
deadliest tornadoes in USA history all occurred during the prime
spring severe weather season that lasts into June over the Northern
Plains and Upper Midwest? Two of those deadliest tornadoes occurred in
March, 5 each in April and May and 3 in June…the coldest official
temperature ever recorded in the State of Georgia was 17 below zero on
January 27, 1940 at CCC Camp No. F16…the coldest in the lower 48 this
morning was 4 above at Alamosa, Colorado and the coldest in Alaska was
29 below at Fort Yukon…up in the Canadian Yukon it was a relatively
mild 8 below this morning…the Pacific Northwest has really caught it
this year and now another major storm system could produce as much as
5 inches or more in that region in the next 5 days. An intense storm
will move inland. The NWS in Portland warns that this storm could
produce the strongest winds so far this season…Seattle was drenched
with 15.63 inches of rain in November—more than 10 inches above
normal…strong winds over the Northern Rockies gusted as high as 66 mph
at Dry Creek, Montana and 55 mph at Sweet Grass, Montana.

MY TINY CORNER OF THE WORLD: Sometimes Little Miss Molly can demand
to go outside at the most inconvenient time. It was especially so
today, because we were expecting a telephone call from Helen Keller
Hospital in Sheffield that we had become great grandparents. Woe is
me! Little 7-pound Brandon Alexander was born late this morning to
Josh and Sara Medina. His initials are BAM. Everyone is in excellent
condition except me. If Little Miss Molly keeps reversing my aging,
one of these years I may become a great, great, great, great
grandfather. By then I will probably be older than anybody in the Old
Testament. Life goes on. I just wish Molly could be around for 100
years, because she cheers up everyone she meets. I thought she was
going to take forever walking the Molly Parkway this morning, so I
tapped her rear end with the little blue scoop. She looked real hurt
and disappointed. I apologized, but maybe the little blue scoop can
help with discipline.....

LOOKING FOR AN ALARM SYSTEM?
CALL PRESTIGE ALARMS--WE ARE DIFFERENT.
GIVE US A CHANCE!

Prestige Alarm specializes in monitoring security systems
without the use of expensive phone lines or unreliable cell phones.

How do we do this? Prestige Alarm is one of the few companies
who monitors with an UL listed FCC licensed radio network.
In a typical system, if your phone line is cut or fails,
then you have no communication to the outside world.

Since we do not use phone lines, we can still dispatch the
fire or police when the emergency requires. Despite cut
phone lines, storms or over worked cell phones, we still
get the signal through.

We do not offer the free systems like some of the other
security companies. But you do not want to trust in free
equipment to protect the people who are close to you.

Call Prestige Alarm today to get the best alarm for your
home. Ask for Eddie or Amie. 205.956.4811
