MOTORCYCLE RIDE--DECEMBER 2nd
BENEFITING THE ELDRIDGE CHILDREN'S HOME

Come join us in a fantastic motorcycle ride with a great cause!

It's the 4th Annual Eldridge Children's Home Benefit Ride. The home,
located in Eldridge just off Hwy 78 and State Hwy 13 in Northwest
Alabama, has been in operation since 1948. It houses 30 children in
all age groups; they are educated in public schools, attend local
churches and are raised within the campus in homes. The home accepts
no state or federal money and operates on donations from area churches
and individuals.

Motorcycle riders get together for a ride to benefit this home. Riders
are able to fulfill a special "Christmas Wish List" from each child
and help operate this home all year long. Riders are encouraged to
bring gift cards from any retail outlet or give a donation via check,
made payable to Eldridge Children's Home.
This home has a 501(c)3 status, so donations are tax deductible.

Weather will not be a factor--just be there for the children.
The first Saturday in December, all roads lead to Eldridge.

...Cool Weekend...

It seems this season that I am especially remembering how much that I
loved Christmas music growing up. I still do today, but back then, it
was everything from Thanksgiving to New Years. And the Christmas
television specials. None finer than the Charlie Brown Christmas.
Did you know that Charles Schultz, the creator of the cartoon was
warned that adding Linus telling the Christmas story was considered to
be quite risky because of its religious significance? It made it the
most endearing of all Holiday specials.

THE ALABAMA WEATHER STORY: Were getting off to a chilly start across
the area this morning, but not nearly as cold as we thought a week or
so ago. Alabama is under the forward edge of a broad upper level
trough. We will see patchy high clouds today across the area.
Temperatures will warm into the middle 50s. Skies will be partly
cloudy tonight with lows again in the middle 30s. Sunday looks like a
carbon copy of today, but another trough will be passing to our north
late on Sunday pushing a reinforcing cold front across the area.
Cool and dry weather will prevail on Monday and Tuesday. Readings may
stay in the 40s on Monday and definitely be limited to the 50s on
Tuesday. Look for another front on Wednesday, and it will be dry
also. This additional reinforcing shot of cool air will keep us
around seasonal norms through the end of the week. A low pressure
wave will be sliding along the Texas and Louisiana coast by Friday.
There is some concern that the airmass might be cold enough to allow
for some wintry precipitation. That chances seems small for now, but
will warrant monitoring.

WILD STORM: This weeks powerful storm will go down in the record
books. It produced blizzard conditions in Oklahoma, Tulsa's second
greatest single day snow on record, thundersnow in many locations, an
F1 tornado in Demopolis, an unconfirmed tornado in Pennsylvania last
night and wind gusts to near hurricane force in many locations.

PHILIPPINES RAVAGED BY SUPERTYPHOON: Typhoon Durian was the fourth
typhoon to hit the Philippines this season. At last report, nearly
400 people had died since the storm brought 155 mph winds to the
Central Philippines on Thursday. Durian struck in the same general
area as Typhoon Xangsane, which made landfall on September 27th.

ON THIS DATE IN HURRICANE FORECASTING HISTORY: Under intense
pressure to improve hurricane forecasts after the deadly Labor
Hurricane of 1935, the U.S. Weather Bureau decentralized its hurricane
forecasting function by creating regional hurricane stations in
Florida, Louisiana and Puerto Rico. The main tracking center was
located in Jacksonville FL. Prior to this time, all hurricane
forecasts came from Washington DC. A fourth center would be added
after the surprise 1938 hurricane that struck New England hard.

LOOKING FOR AN ALARM SYSTEM?
CALL PRESTIGE ALARMS--WE ARE DIFFERENT.
GIVE US A CHANCE!

Prestige Alarm specializes in monitoring security systems without the
use of expensive phone lines or unreliable cell phones.

How do we do this? Prestige Alarm is one of the few companies who
monitors with an UL listed FCC licensed radio network.
In a typical system, if your phone line is cut or fails, then you have
no communication to the outside world.

Since we do not use phone lines, we can still dispatch the fire or
police when the emergency requires. Despite cut phone lines, storms or
over worked cell phones, we still get the signal through.

We do not offer the free systems like some of the other security
companies. But you do not want to trust in free equipment to protect
the people who are close to you.

Call Prestige Alarm today to get the best alarm for your home. Ask for
Eddie or Amie. 205.956.4811
