THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOBILE HAS ISSUED A
* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
MOBILE COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA
* UNTIL 100 PM CST
* AT 955 AM CST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED
TO INDICATED A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL
OVER NORTHERN AND CENTRAL PORTIONS OF MOBILE COUNTY. THE HEAVIEST
RAINFALL EXTENDED FROM NEAR BIG CREEK LAKE AND WILMER...TO GEORGETOWN
AND CHUNCHULA...TO AROUND TURNERVILLE AND CHASTANG. THE STORMS
PRODUCING THE FLASH FLOODING ARE MOVING ACROSS THE SAME AREAS THAT
HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED UP TO 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL THIS MORNING.
ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINS OF 2 TO 3 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER THE
SAME AREAS THROUGH 100 PM THIS AFTERNOON. MANY ROADWAYS WILL LIKELY
BECOME FLOODED IF THEY ARE NOT ALREADY FLOODED.
RESIDENTS LIVING IN FLOOD PRONE AREAS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE
PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS
WATERS OF UNKNOWN DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY AUTOMOBILE. REMEMBER...IT ONLY
TAKES A FEW INCHES OF SWIFTLY FLOWING WATER TO CARRY VEHICLES AWAY.
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY
ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS...STREAMS AND OTHER LOW
LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLOODING.
