MOTORCYCLE RIDE--DECEMBER 2nd
BENEFITING THE ELDRIDGE CHILDREN'S HOME
Come join us in a fantastic motorcycle ride with a great cause!
It's the 4th Annual Eldridge Children's Home Benefit Ride. The home,
located in Eldridge just off Hwy 78 and State Hwy 13 in Northwest
Alabama, has been in operation since 1948. It houses 30 children in
all age groups; they are educated in public schools, attend local
churches and are raised within the campus in homes. The home accepts
no state or federal money and operates on donations from area churches
and individuals.
Motorcycle riders get together for a ride to benefit this home. Riders
are able to fulfill a special "Christmas Wish List" from each child
and help operate this home all year long. Riders are encouraged to
bring gift cards from any retail outlet or give a donation via check,
made payable to Eldridge Children's Home.
This home has a 501(c)3 status, so donations are tax deductible.
Weather will not be a factor--just be there for the children.
The first Saturday in December, all roads lead to Eldridge.

...Another Glorious November Day...
If you liked yesterday's weather, you will most certainly like today.
And tomorrow won't be any worse either, save for a few clouds that
will sneak in late in the day. Both days will features highs near 70
after early morning lows near 40, mostly sunny skies and light
southeasterly breezes.
CHANGES AHEAD: Tuesday may dawn mostly cloudy, and it will certainly
become cloudy as the day moves along and moisture levels increase.
Temperatures will again warm into the lower 70s. The GFS hints at a
few showers during the day, so we may have to introduce slight rain
chances. By Wednesday morning, a cold front will trail from
intensifying low pressure over the Great Lakes states. This front
will be propelled by a powerful trough digging into the central part
of the nation. Alabama will be in the warm sector ahead of the
frontal system, with additional showers and maybe a thunderstorm
forming Wednesday along with an increasing southerly wind. But the
main action will likely come on Thursday.
PROBLEM ONE: Severe weather may be a possibility with the
thunderstorms along and ahead of the line on Thursday. The SPC
restricts their forecast of that possibility to South Alabama, but I
won't be surprised to see it across Central and Northern sections of
the state also. The line of storms will move slowly across the state
during the day Thursday. With the line becoming parallel to the upper
flow, two things happen: the forward progress will slow, allowing for
heavier rain, and…
PROBLEM TWO: The cold air fills in right behind the front. This
means that freezing temperatures may move in quickly enough to allow
for some wintry precipitation late Thursday night into Friday morning.
If you believe the GFS run from Saturday morning, you could picture
3-4 inches of snow across North Alabama by noon Friday. Even greater
amounts could fall over western Tennessee and northern Mississippi.
COLD WAVE WARNING: J.B. was wondering the other day why the U.S.
National Weather Service stopped issuing Cold Wave Warnings. They
were issued when temperatures were expected to drop rapidly from near
or above normal temperatures to significantly below normal. They are
still issued by Environment Canada, their Weather Service. While this
week's arctic airmass would probably not qualify for a Cold Wave
Warning, it still will be a rude awakening after our recent warm
spell. Temperatures will drop below freezing after midnight and
continue in a free fall through the day on Friday. Throw in a strong
northwesterly wind gusting to over 25 mph at times, a little light
snow, and it could be one miserable day. Skies should clear by Friday
night, allowing for the coldest air so far this season. Readings
could drop into the teens over North Alabama by Saturday morning.

LOOKING FOR AN ALARM SYSTEM?
CALL PRESTIGE ALARMS--WE ARE DIFFERENT.
GIVE US A CHANCE!
Prestige Alarm specializes in monitoring security systems without the
use of expensive phone lines or unreliable cell phones.
How do we do this? Prestige Alarm is one of the few companies who
monitors with an UL listed FCC licensed radio network.
In a typical system, if your phone line is cut or fails, then you have
no communication to the outside world.
Since we do not use phone lines, we can still dispatch the fire or
police when the emergency requires. Despite cut phone lines, storms or
over worked cell phones, we still get the signal through.
We do not offer the free systems like some of the other security
companies. But you do not want to trust in free equipment to protect
the people who are close to you.
Call Prestige Alarm today to get the best alarm for your home. Ask for
Eddie or Amie. 205.956.4811
