HOW CAN YOU BEAT THIS WEATHER? Back in mid summer when the stubborn
old thermometer was going well into the 90s every day with the
humidity off the charts, we daydreamed and longed for this type
weather. We are getting a good dose of autumn in Alabama. It could not
be more timely for what is supposed to be the biggest shopping day of
the year. Not for me. I'm hiding out at home. Look for mostly sunshine
through Monday. Clouds will increase by Tuesday night leading to some
showers by Wednesday and increasing in number next Wednesday night. We
look for a major change in weather by next Thursday (we cannot
absolutely pinpoint the day at this time). We think the strongest cold
front so far this season will be moving quickly through the state next
Thursday and bringing us our coldest temperatures so far this season
by late next week. Stay tuned. The latest weather models point to a
1054 millibar high over Colorado next Thursday morning. This is
unusually strong for so late in the season. Translation: lots of very
cold air.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: UAB will be in Orlando to play the University of
Central Florida for a Saturday morning 11:00 a.m. kickoff. It should
be fair and mild with warmest temperatures during the game around 75.

OUR WONDERFUL WORLD OF WEATHER: Lots of interesting stuff going
on…it was 47 below zero this morning at Faro in the Yukon of NW Canada
and 45 below at Mayo with a barometric pressure approaching 31 inches.
It was 72 below at the Summit in Greenland. That is the coldest
temperature I have seen in all of North America so far this season. It
was 35 below at Rabbit Kettle in the Northwest Territory of Canada.
That name intrigues me, but I don't know why it was named that. You
can depart Rabbit Kettle and canoe 230 miles on the Nahanni River
through some of the deepest canyons in Canada. Not now, of course,
because the river is frozen solid…there is 38 inches of snow on the
ground at Pelican, Alaska and 18 inches at Juneau…it was 42 below this
morning at Ft. Yukon and Chandalar Lake, Alaska…coldest in the lower
48 this morning was 7 above zero at Ely, Nevada.

MY TINY CORNER OF THE WORLD: Little Miss Molly sure had an exciting
Thanksgiving. There were so many people on the walking track,
including people visiting in the community, that she was on high alert
all day. She considers anyone that she doesn't recognize as an
intruder into her territory. I don't think she got much sleep
yesterday and late last night she curled up right next to me ready for
a long night of sleep. She is still sleepy today. I sat on the couch
for about 30 minutes this morning and she got in my lap and cuddled as
close to my chest as possible. She was like one of those warm beanbags
you put in the microwave to keep your feet warm at night. Naturally,
she won a lot of points with me. Life goes on.....

LOOKING FOR AN ALARM SYSTEM?
CALL PRESTIGE ALARMS--WE ARE DIFFERENT.
GIVE US A CHANCE!

Prestige Alarm specializes in monitoring security systems
without the use of expensive phone lines or unreliable cell phones.

How do we do this? Prestige Alarm is one of the few companies
who monitors with an UL listed FCC licensed radio network.
In a typical system, if your phone line is cut or fails,
then you have no communication to the outside world.

Since we do not use phone lines, we can still dispatch the
fire or police when the emergency requires. Despite cut
phone lines, storms or over worked cell phones, we still
get the signal through.

We do not offer the free systems like some of the other
security companies. But you do not want to trust in free
equipment to protect the people who are close to you.

Call Prestige Alarm today to get the best alarm for your
home. Ask for Eddie or Amie. 205.956.4811
