TOTAL SUNSHINE FOR OUR THANKSGIVING: And you can bet that I am
humbly thankful for much more than I deserve and we should all be
thankful for the good old USA. Our weather for Thanksgiving could not
be any nicer. After an early morning chill, the afternoon temperatures
should warm well into the 60s. The wind will also be lighter tomorrow
than it has been in several days.

We are in an extended period of very pleasant weather. Some of the
newer models tend to delay our next storm system to about the middle
of next week. From now through Sunday, we will have mostly sunshine
each day. Starting Friday our highs should be above 70. It was cold
across the state again this morning, although not as cold as yesterday
morning. It dropped to 28 at Shelby County Airport and in Pinson, but
most lows were between 30 and 35.

THANKSGIVING NATIONALLY: A big percentage of the country will have
dry weather. The main exception will be the Pacific Northwest and the
Mid-Atlantic States NE through New England. In New York City for the
big parade, there should be lots of rain tomorrow with north winds
gusting to 35 mph.

OUR WORLD OF WEATHER: I have been in weather work for what seems like
300 years, but the current storm system affecting the Mid Atlantic
States is one of the stronger non-tropical storms I can remember. The
intense low was centered just off the North Carolina coast and will be
moving NE. Earlier today, a weather buoy 74 land miles east of
Virginia Beach reported 24-foot waves and gusts to 60 mph. Elizabeth
City, North Carolina was getting buckets of rain with north winds
gusting to 69 mph…bitter cold air continues to build up over parts of
Alaska, Northern Canada and over the North Pole into Siberia. It was
42 below zero this morning at Chandalar Lake, Alaska. It was 53 below
at the summit in Greenland will be near 60 below tonight. Over the
North Pole in Siberia, it was 45 below zero at Ojmjakon. Naturally,
when it gets that bitter cold so early in the season we turn one of
our eyeballs northward and leave it there. There are indications that
the strongest high pressure system so far this season will be
bulging its way down into the northern U.S. by Monday. Stay tuned.

MY TINY CORNER OF THE WORLD: It was extremely upset. A lone bird
perched in the top of the sassafras tree was screaming at the top of
its voice. No other birds around, so I don't know what made it so
upset. I was afraid the bird might get a stroke. Only thing I could
figure out was that he or she was trying to give Little Miss Molly a
stern warning that she was trespassing. I have news for that bird.
Molly considers all of my tiny corner of the world as her private
Texas ranch. She knows where every tree and plant is and every house
where people live that love her. We greeted several old crows at the
north end of the track. They actually paused for a rest on the grounds
of the Old Crow Motel and we got a good look at them. Life goes on....

LOOKING FOR AN ALARM SYSTEM?
CALL PRESTIGE ALARMS--WE ARE DIFFERENT.
GIVE US A CHANCE!

Prestige Alarm specializes in monitoring security systems
without the use of expensive phone lines or unreliable cell phones.

How do we do this? Prestige Alarm is one of the few companies
who monitors with an UL listed FCC licensed radio network.
In a typical system, if your phone line is cut or fails,
then you have no communication to the outside world.

Since we do not use phone lines, we can still dispatch the
fire or police when the emergency requires. Despite cut
phone lines, storms or over worked cell phones, we still
get the signal through.

We do not offer the free systems like some of the other
security companies. But you do not want to trust in free
equipment to protect the people who are close to you.

Call Prestige Alarm today to get the best alarm for your
home. Ask for Eddie or Amie. 205.956.4811
