The Ides of November have produced a couple of significant tornado
outbreaks across the United States, most notably, the 1989 outbreak
that produced the Huntsville Tornado. That tornado killed a total of
21 people as it roared out of an inky, black late afternoon sky and
descended with a hellish fury on unsuspecting motorists stuck in rush
hour traffic. In it interesting to note that on November 15, 1987,
1988 and 1989, significant tornado outbreaks happened in the U.S.

BACK TO TODAY: For about a week, we have been monitoring this
situation. The models did a good job portraying the powerful low over
the Mississippi Valley that is roaring northeastward today. The low
bottomed out at a central pressure of 29.27 inches, close to what you
would expect in a category one hurricane. The low has slowed its
progress a bit and the line of storms that has been marching eastward
has slowed also.

BULLET DODGED: It looks like North Alabama is mostly dodging a
bullet, with no significant severe weather reported. A huge rain mass
over South and South Central Alabama robbed most of the strong inflow
of moisture and instability, helping to limit the storms' intensity
over North Alabama. Some trees were reported down in Pickens County.
. Some structures were damaged by wind in Lawrence and Limestone
Counties. But our friends in the northern half of the state were
lucky with just spotty damage The system is turning into a prolific
rain producer. Very heavy rainfall amounts are coming out of Central
Alabama, where numerous flash flood warnings are in effect.

DAMAGE REPORTED: Folks in South Central Alabama were not as lucky.
Significant tornado damage has been reported from the Pintlala area of
southern Montgomery County. A possible tornado also touched down in
the Taylor Road area of eastern Montgomery. Other possible tornadoes
were reported near Brundidge, just south of Lake Martin near Eclectic,
at Lafayette in Chambers County and in the Mount Andrew in Barbour
County.

MOVING AHEAD: Additional storms were trying to fire over eastern
Mississippi at mid-afternoon. They will push east ahead of the slow
moving cold front. There may be some temporary clearing this
afternoon, but low clouds will wrap back into the area tonight around
the big upper level low over southern Arkansas. Temperatures will
fall into the lower 40s tonight. Tomorrow looks like a raw day with
clouds, a biting west wind and maybe a little light rain or drizzle.
Skies should clear tomorrow night and readings will drop into the
middle 30s, with a few normally colder locations approaching freezing.
Friday looks like a nice day with sunny skies and a high near 60s.
Saturday looks good for the Iron Bowl with temperatures in the lower
60s under a sunny sky.

LOOKING FOR AN ALARM SYSTEM?
CALL PRESTIGE ALARMS--WE ARE DIFFERENT.
GIVE US A CHANCE!

Prestige Alarm specializes in monitoring security systems
without the use of expensive phone lines or unreliable cell phones.

How do we do this? Prestige Alarm is one of the few companies
who monitors with an UL listed FCC licensed radio network.
In a typical system, if your phone line is cut or fails,
then you have no communication to the outside world.

Since we do not use phone lines, we can still dispatch the
fire or police when the emergency requires. Despite cut
phone lines, storms or over worked cell phones, we still
get the signal through.

We do not offer the free systems like some of the other
security companies. But you do not want to trust in free
equipment to protect the people who are close to you.

Call Prestige Alarm today to get the best alarm for your
business or home. Ask for Eddie or Amie. 205.956.4811
