THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BIRMINGHAM HAS ISSUED A

* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR...
SOUTHEASTERN CLAY COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL ALABAMA
RANDOLPH COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL ALABAMA
THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF ROANOKE

* UNTIL 500 PM CDT

* AT 409 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING NICKEL SIZE
HAIL...AND DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THESE STORMS WERE
LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM NEWELL TO 16 MILES SOUTHWEST OF
WEDOWEE...OR ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 18 MILES NORTHWEST OF
ROANOKE TO 20 MILES SOUTH OF CHEAHA STATE PARK...AND MOVING
SOUTHEAST AT 20 MPH.

* OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
WOODLAND AND WADLEY.

THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH...PREPARE
IMMEDIATELY FOR DAMAGING WINDS...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...AND DEADLY CLOUD
TO GROUND LIGHTNING. PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER...
PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING BUT AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
