THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

NORTHEAST ALABAMA
NORTHERN GEORGIA
FAR WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA
SOUTHEAST TENNESSEE

EFFECTIVE THIS SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY MORNING FROM 905 PM
UNTIL 300 AM EDT.

HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 35
STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 25 MILES NORTH
NORTHWEST OF HUNTSVILLE ALABAMA TO 90 MILES EAST SOUTHEAST OF

NARROW CORRIDOR ALONG THE BOUNDARY...WITH A MUCH DRIER AIR MASS TO
THE S ACROSS AL/GA. VERTICAL SHEAR WILL REMAIN FAVORABLE FOR
SUPERCELLS WITHIN THE WATCH AREA...WITH LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING
WINDS THE PRIMARY SEVERE THREATS.
