THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

EXTREME NORTHWEST ALABAMA
NORTHEAST ARKANSAS
EXTREME NORTHERN MISSISSIPPI
SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF WESTERN AND MIDDLE TENNESSEE

EFFECTIVE THIS SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY MORNING FROM 700 PM
UNTIL 100 AM CDT.

HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 40
STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 35 MILES SOUTHWEST
OF JONESBORO ARKANSAS TO 45 MILES EAST NORTHEAST OF MUSCLE SHOALS

LOCAL WEAKNESS IN THE CAP ARE PRESENT ALONG THE BOUNDARY...WHILE THE
MORE FAVORABLE VERTICAL SHEAR FOR ORGANIZED SEVERE STORMS IS ALSO
FOCUSED IN A NARROW CORRIDOR NEAR THE FRONT. LARGE HAIL AND
DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THE STRONGEST STORMS...WHILE
STORM COVERAGE COULD INCREASE DURING THE EVENING IN ASSOCIATION WITH
A MID LEVEL WAVE MOVING TOWARD THE LOWER OH VALLEY.
