...Some Rain At Times Today...

An unsettled weather pattern will continue across Alabama today, with
scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms likely. While a few strong
storms will be possible, the threat of a major severe weather threat at this
time looks rather low. Most communities will see about one inch of rain
during the next 12 hours or so.

TOMORROW: Drier air is forecast to filter into the northern half of the
state tomorrow, and most of the day should be dry. Any showers should be
rather isolated, and mainly south of Birmingham. Showers will begin to
increase tomorrow night.

SUNDAY: We will forecast periods of rain and few a thunderstorms Sunday as a
wave of low pressure forms on the old front over Central Alabama. While the
rain won't last all day, it could rain at any time on Sunday.

NEXT WEEK: The chance of rain on Monday looks small, but a few showers and
storms could return by Tuesday night and Wednesday. A significant storm
system
approaches at the end of the week, which has the potential to bring the risk
of strong to severe storms to Alabama.

YESTERDAY'S RAIN: Rain totals around Alabama yesterday included 1.14" at
Steele, 1.06" at Leeds, 0.99" at Mr. Cheaha, 0.70" at Greystone Farms, 0.69"
at Nauvoo, 0.44" at Clay, and 0.37" at Riverchase,

ROAMING: Hottest spot in the nation yesterday was Laredo, TX with 101
degrees. Hailstones the size of softballs were reported last night near
Mertzon, TX.
