...Spring Forward...

GOOD MORNING! If you didn't set your clock ahead before retiring last
night, you better hurry because you are probably late. Daylight Saving Time
began early this morning.

FOR YOUR SUNDAY: Skies will start out gray in many areas this morning with
low clouds and fog that formed overnight. A warm Spring sun will return
later this morning, pushing temperatures into the lower 80s across the area.
The airmass across Central Alabama will be unstable enough to allow for the
development of scattered showers and storms this afternoon. An approaching
cold front will set up a few showers and storms overnight. These showers
will continue into Monday morning.

THE WEEK AHEAD: Behind the frontal system that will be producing the
showers and storms, significantly drier and cooler air will flow into
Alabama. Skies will be mostly sunny Tuesday and Wednesday, with partly
cloudy conditions expected on Thursday. Temperatures on Tuesday will remain
in the upper 60s after a cool start with readings in the forties Tuesday
morning.
It will be a few degrees cooler on Wednesday morning, with 30s possible in a
few locations. 70s will return for afternoon highs on Wednesday and
Thursday.

Another storm system will begin to affect Alabama on Thursday, with
increasingly breezy conditions. A few showers will arrive in western
sections during the evening, and become likely across the area during the
overnight hours. Showers and storms will continue into part of the day on
Friday. Temperatures will remain in the 70s for daytime highs and 50s for
overnight lows as we head into the weekend.

ON THIS DATE IN 1991: Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines began to come to
life. The eventual series of eruptions in June would be the most violent
volcanic eruption of the twentieth century. Despite the organized
evacuation of nearly 200,000 nearby residents, 900 people would still die.
42,000 homes on the island of Luzon were destroyed.
