...Showers Could Show Up Tonight...

Clouds will increase across Alabama today in advance of a major storm system
which produced a number of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes yesterday
across the nation's mid-section. Thankfully, the main dynamics will pass
well to the north of Alabama today as the system heads toward the Great
Lakes.

The trailing front, which will weaken with time, will approach Alabama
tonight and should bring a band of scattered showers and thunderstorms.
While there is a small chance of a shower late this afternoon, the bulk of
the showers will come tonight, mainly after 9:00 p.m. We don't expect any
problems with severe weather, and the rain probably won't be all that heavy.

THE WEEKEND: The front will stall out and fizzle out over North Alabama
tomorrow. We will mention just a few widely scattered showers tomorrow, but
many Alabama communities will be dry. Pretty much the same story on Sunday;
just a small risk of a shower during the afternoon. Highs this weekend will
be mostly in the 76 to 82 degree range, about 10 degrees above normal for
early April in Alabama.

NEXT WEEK: Another weak front will bring a chance of scattered showers or
storms on Monday. The middle of the week should be dry, and temperatures
will remain above normal for early April in Alabama.

A WARM DAY: Tuscaloosa, Pinson, and Dothan soared to 82 degrees yesterday.
Anniston reached 80, and Birmingham's high was 78.

SPRING FORWARD: Don't forget to set your clocks ahead one hour tomorrow
night before you go to bed; we go on Daylight Saving Time Sunday at 2:00
a.m. The sunset time Sunday evening is 7:08 p.m.
