...The warm-up Continues...

Afternoons will continue to warm-up across Alabama during the next few days.
We are forecasting highs in the upper 70s today, and some communities over
in West Alabama might even reach the low 80s. The air remains relatively dry
and we don't expect any rain.

ON THE MAPS: A significant outbreak of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes is
possible today across the nation's mid-section, in the broad area from
Dallas to Chicago. This major storm will move northeast, toward the Great
Lakes tomorrow. We will introduce a chance of a shower tomorrow afternoon,
but showers and a few storms are more likely tomorrow night as the front
trailing from the Great Lakes storm system approaches. Once again, severe
weather and heavy rain is not likely here with the main upper air support so
far to the north, and weakening wind fields both near the surface and aloft.

THE WEEKEND: The weekend still looks mostly rain-free. A brief, stray shower
is possible Saturday morning, but the sun should break our by Saturday
afternoon. Then, on Sunday, we will mention an outside risk of a stray
shower during the afternoon. But once again, most Alabama communities will
have very little rain over the weekend. Temperatures will remain warm, with
highs in the upper 70s and low 80s.

NEXT WEEK: Another weakening front might bring a few scattered showers on
Monday afternoon, but again no severe weather or heavy rain is expected. No
sign of any cold air; temperatures next week will be above normal for early
April in Alabama.

DON'T FORGET: We go on Daylight Saving Time (DST) this weekend, set your
clocks AHEAD one hour late Saturday night!
