...December Chill Continues...

GOOD MORNING: Another chilly start out there across the fruited plain of
Alabama on this Saturday morning. Temperatures will warm rather nicely
today, reaching 50 or slightly higher in most locations. Overnight lows
tonight will be slightly warmer tonight after a day of southwesterly winds
that will elevate moisture levels over the area.

SUNDAY WEATHER: Skies should be partly cloudy again tomorrow ahead of a big
trough of low pressure that will be swinging across the country. This
trough will propel a reinforcing shot of cool air into Alabama and the Deep
South late tomorrow. This will lead to another cold night Sunday night.

THE COMING WEEK: Sunny and slightly cool weather will prevail on Monday
with high pressure centered near New Orleans. That high will slide eastward
to near Jacksonville Florida by Tuesday morning. This will allow the wind
flow over Alabama to become southerly again. Low pressure to the west of
Alabama will begin to move our way overnight Tuesday night, combining with
the moist flow to bring us increasing chances of showers on Wednesday.
There could be a fairly decent rainfall event across the area on Wednesday
night with showers continuing into Thursday morning. Temperatures will fall
rather quickly on Thursday behind a cold front, but no wintry precipitation
is expected at this time. Skies should being clearing during the day.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Grambling takes on Alabama A&M in the SWAC Championship
Game at Legion Field this afternoon at 1 p.m. Game time temperatures will be
in the upper 40s, rising into the lower 50s during the game, before dropping
back.

ON THIS DATE IN 2002: Greek Television reported that a shower of tiny fish
rained down on the village of Korona after a strong thunderstorm. Experts
reported that the unexpected bounty was probably caused when a waterspout
picked up the small fish from Lake Doirani.
