...Much Cooler Air Arrives Tomorrow...

Looks like today will be the last day for highs in the 80s here for the
foreseeable future. A cold front passes through late today, and will bring a
sharp change to cooler weather for the weekend. Any showers on the front
this evening should be isolated, and many places will remain dry.
The weekend will feature plenty of clouds along with a cool breeze and
temperatures struggling to reach the mid 60s. A secondary shot of chilly air
rolls in here Sunday night, and we could very well hold in the 50s all day
Monday.

We still expect a good potential for the first widespread frost of the
season by Wednesday morning of next week.

WILMA: Catastrophic damage is possible along the coast of the Yucatan
peninsula today as the big hurricane creeps through places like Cozumel and
Cancun. Wilma will be at least a category four, possibly a five, as she
moves into the coast this morning. Some of the computer models keep Wilma
over the peninsula for the next two days, which could lead to rain totals of
20 to 30 inches leading to flooding of Biblical proportion.

The interaction with land will greatly weaken the system as it kicks
northeast toward southern Florida late Sunday or Monday.

FOOTBALL: Just a slight chance of a shower for tonight's UAB-Southern Miss
game (7:00 kickoff) with a kickoff temperature of 76 degrees. Cloudy and
cool weather for tomorrow's Bama-Tennessee game in Tuscaloosa. The kickoff
temperature (2:30 p.m.) should be near 65 degrees, dropping into the upper
50s by the end of the game. In Baton Rouge for the Auburn-LSU game tomorrow
evening (6:45 p.m. kickoff), a clear sky with about 70 degrees at kickoff,
falling through the 60s during the game.
