...Another Warm Afternoon Ahead...

A rather uneventful weather pattern continues across Alabama for the
foreseeable future. After some morning fog, we expect a good supply of
sunshine by afternoon with temperatures rising into the low 80s, about five
degrees above normal for October 13.

A surface front will pass through tomorrow, but with limited moisture and
dynamics we don't expect any significant rain. Dry air will follow this
front, keeping us rain-free into the weekend.

Nights will be a little cooler by the weekend, with low 50s early Sunday
morning. Some of the colder valleys might reach the upper 40s. Afternoons
will stay warm with high temperatures not too far from 80 degrees.

NEXT WEEK: At this point it looks like rain will be very hard to find around
here next week as the primary storm track across North America remains well
west and north of Alabama. The bottom line is that we are in a dry weather
pattern, something not unusual for October.

TROPICS: While a large area of disturbed weather continues across the
eastern Caribbean, there is no surface circulation and upper air winds don't
favor any organization right now.

NORTHEAST RAIN: A hybrid weather system is producing the threat of flash
flooding over much of the northeast U.S., where rain amounts of 5 to 10
inches are likely during the next 48 hours. Winds of tropical storm force
are likely along the Atlantic coast.

STORM ALERT XTREME: Make plans to join us Saturday for our annual severe
weather seminar to be held at Briarwood Presbyterian Church. There is no
cost, and you don't need to register. Just show up, and you will be trained
as a severe weather spotter.
