...Sunshine With Low Humidity...
We will wrap up the month of September today with ample sunshine and low
humidity after a refreshingly cool morning. Temperatures will reach the low
80s today, not far from normal for this time of the year.
RACE WEEKEND: Moisture will return over the weekend, but we will mention
only a small risk of any one spot seeing a brief shower tomorrow and Sunday.
So, generally speaking race weekend at Talladega will be warm and dry with
high temperatures in the mid 80s.
NEXT WEEK: At this point the first half of next week looks warm and dry. A
few showers could return by Thursday and Friday of next week as a surface
front approaches and stalls over north or central Alabama.
FOOTBALL WEATHER: Delightful weather for the high school games tonight. the
sky will be clear with temperatures dropping from the low 70s into the 60s
during the games around the state.
Alabama will host Florida at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at Bryant-Denny Stadium in
Tuscaloosa. The game will be played under a partly sunny sky with a small
risk of a shower during the game. The kickoff temperature will be near 84
degrees.
Auburn hosts South Carolina tomorrow evening. At kickoff (6:00 p.m.), the
temperature should be near 79 degrees, and there is only a slight risk of a
shower during the first half.
UAB also has a home game; the Blazers will take on Rice tomorrow evening at
Legion Field at 6:00. Just a small risk of a shower, otherwise a fair sky
with a kickoff temperature of 80 degrees.
TEXAS HEAT: Corpus Christi soared to 98 degrees yesterday, a new record
high. Record highs have been set there now for 8 days in a row.
