...Warm Afternoons and Cool Nights...

Even though we are beginning to need rain, it doesn't appear likely any time
soon. So, what say we relax and enjoy the very nice weather that has been
going on for a week and will likely continue for at least five or six more
days.

That means mostly sunny days and clear nights. Overnight temperatures will
be very comfortable, generally in the low to mid 60s. Afternoons will warm
up a bit with most highs hanging out within a degree or two of 90.

A big high pressure system over the NE states extends down into this area as
a ridge. It keeps feeding us dry air, so our daytime humidity is fairly
comfortable.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Looks great for tonight's high school games. Saturday,
Mississippi State will be at Auburn (11:30 am) Southern Miss will be at
Alabama (6:45 pm) and UAB will be at Troy for a 7 pm game. Clear weather for
all games with near 90 in Auburn and about 82 at kickoff for the evening
games.

TROPICAL WEATHER: Ophelia was promoted to a hurricane Thursday afternoon
off the east coast of Florida. She is still throwing us curve balls trying
to determine which way she will go. The NHC official track forecast sends
her to about 250 miles east of Savannah, then she loops around and heads
back west! Translation: another game of watch and wait. Meanwhile, Nate and
Maria are way out in the Atlantic and no threat to the USA. We will continue
to watch a disturbed weather area over the SW Gulf of Mexico.

MY TINY CORNER OF THE WORLD: Little Miss Molly had a very enjoyable day
yesterday. Both our son and daughter came by. She dearly loves both and they
spent some time playing with her. I had at least three ballgames with her
plus tug rope and wrestling. Played with her some more late at night mainly
to get rid of her excess energy. Lfie goes on.
