THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOBILE HAS ISSUED A

* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR...

WASHINGTON COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA

* UNTIL 915 PM CDT

* AT 844 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING NICKEL SIZE HAIL...AND
DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THIS STORM WAS LOCATED NEAR
CHATOM...MOVING SOUTH AT 13 MPH.

* THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WILL PASS THROUGH THE JORDAN...CHATOM
AREAS THROUGH 850 PM...THEN SOUTHWARD OVER RURAL WASHINGTON
COUNTY.

PERSONS IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM SHOULD PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WINDS
AROUND 60 MPH...LARGE HAIL TO THE SIZE OF QUARTERS...AND DEADLY
CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING STRIKES. PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A
SHELTER...PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING BUT AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
