NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
529 PM CDT FRI AUG 5 2005

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HUNTSVILLE HAS ISSUED A

* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR...
FRANKLIN COUNTY IN NORTHWEST ALABAMA

* UNTIL 600 PM CDT

* AT 529 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING NICKEL SIZE HAIL...AND
DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THIS STORM WAS LOCATED NEAR
RED BAY...AND MOVING SOUTHWEST AT 10 MPH. THIS STORM HAS A HISTORY
OF PRODUCING WIND DAMAGE. ANOTHER STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WAS LOCATED JUST NORTH OF DEMPSEY.

* LOCATIONS IN OR NEAR THE PATH INCLUDE...
RED BAY.

IN ADDITION TO LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS...CONTINUOUS CLOUD TO
GROUND LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM. REMEMBER...IF YOU CAN
HEAR THUNDER...YOU ARE CLOSE ENOUGH TO BE STRUCK BY LIGHTNING.
