THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR THE
FOLLOWING COUNTIES...

CHEROKEE...CHILTON...CLAY...CLEBURNE...COOSA...DALLAS...ELMORE...
ETOWAH...FAYETTE...GREENE...HALE...JEFFERSON...LAMAR...LEE...
LOWNDES...MACON...MARENGO...MARION...MONTGOMERY...PERRY...PICKENS...
PIKE...RANDOLPH...RUSSELL...SHELBY...ST CLAIR...SUMTER...TALLADEGA...
TALLAPOOSA...TUSCALOOSA...WALKER...AND WINSTON.

HURRICANE DENNIS IS FORECAST TO APPROACH THE NORTHERN GULF COAST
ON SUNDAY. AS IT DOES...RAIN BANDS WILL LIKELY SPREAD INTO
CENTRAL ALABAMA BY SUNDAY AFTERNOON. STEADY RAIN WILL THEN
SPREAD NORTHWARD AND INCREASE IN INTENSITY SUNDAY NIGHT...AND
CONTINUE INTO MONDAY.

BASED ON THE CURRENT FORECAST TRACK OF DENNIS...4 TO 8 INCHES OF
RAIN ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS CENTRAL ALABAMA...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER
AMOUNTS. RAINFALL ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA DURING THE PAST MONTH HAS
LED TO SATURATED GROUND CONDITIONS...AND ANY ADDITIONAL HEAVY
RAINFALL WILL RESULT IN RAPID RUNOFF AND FLASH FLOODING.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
RAPIDLY RISING WATERS AND FLOODING IN AND NEAR THE WATCH AREA.
IF YOU ARE IN THE WATCH AREA...CHECK PREPAREDNESS REQUIREMENTS...
