...Another Hot Day; Lower Humidity...

While the mercury will warm back up to near the 90 degree mark today, humidity values will be noticeably lower, making the heat a little more manageable. We expect a good supply of sunshine today with any afternoon showers limited to the southern quarter of the state.

A disturbance moving down the back side of a developing upper trough over the eastern U.S. will bring a risk of a few scattered showers and storms to Alabama tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night. But, the air will be quite dry and the best coverage of storms will probably be to the west of us, over Mississippi.

THE WEEKEND: Very nice weather for the weekend with lots of sunshine, low humidity, and cooler nights. We should be in the low 60s early Sunday, and some of the cooler spots might even wind up in the upper 50s.

Early next week moist air begins to return, and a few afternoon showers or storms could return by Tuesday and Wednesday.

TROPICAL WEATHER: One disturbance is near Hispaniola and eastern Cuba moving north; it is rather disorganized and upper air winds don’t favor any development. Another one is over the Bay of Campeche, and is moving slowly westward into Mexico.

RANDOM NOTES: Hot spots in Alabama yesterday were Montgomery and Mobile with 95 degrees. The sea water temperature at Pensacola yesterday afternoon was 83 degrees. Hottest place in the nation yesterday was Death Valley, CA with 113 degrees. Lots of rain yesterday across central Florida; Orlando reported 1.01”, and to the east Daytona Beach picked up 1.90”. Up in Michigan, the high yesterday was only 68 degrees. Chicago’s high was only 70.
