...Fewer Showers; More Sun...

We are trending toward warmer and drier weather through the weekend.
Having said that, we cannot eliminate the chance of afternoon showers over
the next five to seven days, but they will be very widely scattered today
and tomorrow. And, with the increasing amount of sunshine, temperatures will
rise into the low to mid 80s, close to normal levels for early June. The
best chance of a passing shower will come from about 2:00 until 7:00 p.m.

A deep pool of low level moisture will cover Alabama like a blanket
much of next week, which means we will deal with scattered afternoon showers
and storms on a daily basis. Another words, pretty typical June weather.

AT THE BEACH: About six to eight hours of sunshine on a daily basis
along the central Gulf coast today through the weekend. A few scattered
showers or storms will be around, and daytime temperatures will peak in the
mid 80s. The sea water temperature at station PCLF1 at Pensacola late
yesterday was 79.2 degrees (F).

TROPICAL WEATHER: Disturbed weather continues over the western
Caribbean, the eastern Gulf of Mexico, Cuba, and Florida. Surface pressures
are relatively low in the northwest Caribbean, but upper air winds are not
favorable for any tropical storm development at this time.

MORE STORMS: Rain totals yesterday included .94" at Sterrett, .70"
at Talladega, .47" at Anniston, and .35" at Gardendale. A severe storm blew
trees down along Alabama Highway 9 near Cleburne late in the day, and hail
was reported from afternoon storms in Lineville, Lincoln, and near Calera.
Some streets were closed briefly in downtown Talladega from flooding. A few
trees were blown down in Madison county.
