...Breaks In Heat Wave Here...

GOOD MORNING! That sound that you don't hear this morning is my air
conditioner. It picked a great time to go out yesterday. The temperature
at 5 p.m. CDT was 87.5F...inside. Did you know that it was still 82F at 7
p.m.? You pay attention to those things when you need the cooler air
outside to come inside. So, I just pretended I was back in the Old South
before air conditioning. Why couldn't it have gone out tomorrow night?

SO WHAT ABOUT TOMORROW? Last week, I parodied my friends who were impatient
for summer by asking, "Where's my warm up?" Careful what you ask for. We
had a nice one this week. We will see a break in the heatwave. I don't
think we will see in temperatures like the past few days for the next seven
days. In fact, we should see 70s for daytime highs tomorrow and Monday.

FORECAST: CRAWFISH! Good weather for the final day of the annual
Schaeffer Eye Clinic Crawfish Boil in the Railroad District. There is a
slight chance of an isolated storm this afternoon along with partly cloudy
skies. Skies will become cloudy early this evening and a line of showers
and storms will arrive during the overnight hours, likely after the
Wallflowers finish playing about 11:30 p.m. Western sections will see the
showers and storms earlier. Severe weather is not expected, but a couple of
the storms could pack a little punch with lightning, brief gusty winds and a
short duration of heavy rain. A fairly strong cold front will arrive by
Sunday morning. Lows tonight will drop to near 60 degrees. Skies will
quickly go back to partly cloudy Sunday morning, with nice temperatures in
the 70s during the afternoon. Some places across Alabama will enjoy
refreshing lows in the upper 40s Monday morning!

BACK INTO THE WORK WEEK: I hesitate to say we are going to have nice
weather next week, because we really could use the rain. Unless we get a
good amount tonight, and that doesn't look likely, we might even deal with a
real fire hazard soon. The week ahead will be dry it appears.
