THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL ALABAMA
WESTERN FLORIDA PANHANDLE
WESTERN GEORGIA
SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI
COASTAL WATERS

EFFECTIVE THIS FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY MORNING FROM 850 PM UNTIL
200 AM CDT.

HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 60
STATUTE MILES EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FROM 35 MILES WEST NORTHWEST
OF MOBILE ALABAMA TO 45 MILES NORTHEAST OF LA GRANGE GEORGIA. FOR

REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE

DISCUSSION...LARGE CLUSTER OF INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUES TO
TRACK SOUTHEASTWARD ACROSS SOUTHERN AL. THESE STORMS WILL LIKELY
PROGRESS TO THE COAST DURING THE NEXT FEW HOURS. OTHER ISOLATED
SEVERE STORMS ARE POSSIBLE ALONG THE COLD FRONT ACROSS CENTRAL AL
INTO SOUTHEAST MS. LARGE HAIL WILL BE THE MAIN THREAT WITH ALL OF
THESE STORMS.

AVIATION...A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT
