THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HUNTSVILLE AL HAS ISSUED A FLOOD
WATCH EFFECTIVE UNTIL 400 AM CDT THURSDAY MORNING. THE WATCH INCLUDES
THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
IN ALABAMA
MORGAN...CULLMAN...MARSHALL...LIMESTONE...MADISON...JACKSON...
AND DE KALB
IN TENNESSEE
MOORE...LINCOLN AND FRANKLIN
A FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT FOR THE
FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
IN ALABAMA
COLBERT...FRANKLIN...LAUDERDALE...AND LAWRENCE
RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 1.5 INCHES HAVE BEEN REPORTED ACROSS NORTH
CENTRAL ALABAMA THIS AFTERNOON WITH AN INITIAL BAND OF LIGHT TO
MODERATE RAINFALL. ADDITIONAL BANDS OF HEAVY RAINFALL HAVE BEEN
NOTED DEVELOPING ACROSS NORTHERN MISSISSIPPI. AS A RESULT...THE
LIKELIHOOD OF FLOODING HAS INCREASED ACROSS THE TENNESSEE VALLEY.
A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT FLOODING IS POSSIBLE BUT NOT IMMINENT IN THE
WATCH AREA. PEOPLE IN THE WATCH AREA ARE ADVISED TO CHECK
PREPAREDNESS REQUIREMENTS...KEEP INFORMED...AND BE READY FOR QUICK
ACTION IF FLOODING THREATENS.
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS. IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY. MOVE TO
HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO
FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
