...Quite A Turnaround...

GOOD MORNING! Well, those temperatures in the 50s out there this morning
are not that unusual. As a matter of fact, they are not far from yesterday
morning's low. And they are right around normal for this time of year. But
the fact that our temperatures will stay in the 50s for a good bit of the
day is remarkable. Particularly in light of our recent highs. Throw in a
biting northwest wind today, and you will be shivering a bit. We will
experience a mix of clouds and some sun today. Any sunshine we get will be
very appreciated.

CHANCE OF A FREEZE OVERNIGHT: We will appreciate hat northwest breeze
tonight. It may the only thing standing between us and an overnight freeze.
Skies will clear by tonight over the area and temperatures will plummet into
the 30s. Those winds will keep the lowest levels of the atmosphere mixed
tonight and hopefully prevent a widespread frost. Still, some of the
normally colder locations might hit freezing for a short while tonight, and
precautions should be taken to protect tender vegetation. There is a chance
that frost could occur tomorrow night, since winds will be lighter. In
between, Sunday promises to be a decent, albeit cool and breezy day. At
least skies will be sunny.

NEXT WEATHER MAKER: Monday looks like it will start off as a nice day,
with partly cloudy skies and temperatures near 70 degrees. Skies will
become cloudy late in the day and showers and storms will arrive during the
overnight. Showers and storms will last into the daylight hours on Tuesday.
Some showers may even be with us into Wednesday. Conditions should improve
on Thursday and Friday.

ON THIS DATE IN 1990: Utah commonly experiences strong winds in the spring
and fall, but the windy conditions on this date literally blew away state
records. A wind gust to 113 mph occurred at the Brigham City UT Airport
during the early morning hours. Twenty tractor-trailers were blown over on
Interstate 15, the state's main north-south road. Trucks were banned from
the highway.
