FOR FLASH FLOODING FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES UNTIL NOON CST FRIDAY

IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA...ESCAMBIA...COVINGTON...WASHINGTON...CONECUH...
MONROE...BUTLER...CLARKE...CRENSHAW...WILCOX...CHOCTAW...BALDWIN AND
MOBILE COUNTIES.
IN SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI...GEORGE...STONE...PERRY...GREENE AND WAYNE
COUNTIES.
IN NORTHWEST FLORIDA...OKALOOSA...ESCAMBIA AND SANTA ROSA COUNTIES.
A STRONG AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL DEVELOP OVER SOUTHERN
MISSISSIPPI TONIGHT AND ADVANCE NORTHEAST INTO NORTHERN GEORGIA BY
NOON ON FRIDAY. IN RESPONSE...A SURFACE BOUNDARY WILL LIFT NORTHWARD
FROM THE GULF COAST ACROSS SOUTHWEST ALABAMA...THE NORTHWEST FLORIDA
PANHANDLE...AND THE INTERIOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI. A
LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN WILL
ACCOMPANY THE BOUNDARY AS IT PROGRESSES NORTHWARD OVERNIGHT INTO
FRIDAY MORNING. THE HEAVY RAIN WILL COME TO AN END FRIDAY AFTERNOON
THROUGH THE EARLY EVENING HOURS AS A COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH THE
AREA.
IN TOTAL...THE DURATION OF THE RAINFALL EVENT WILL BE QUITE
PROLONGED AND WIDESPREAD...AND THE LOCALIZED HEAVY RAIN WILL LIKELY
OCCUR OVER ALREADY SATURATED SOILS FROM PREVIOUS HEAVY RAINS. THIS
EVENT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO GENERATE RAINFALL AMOUNTS BETWEEN 3 AND 5
INCHES ACROSS THE WATCH AREA.
PEOPLE IN THE WATCH AREA SHOULD CONTINUE TO BE AWARE OF THE
POSSIBILITY FOR HEAVY RAINFALL, AVOID LOW LYING AREAS, AND BE CAREFUL
WHEN APPROACHING HIGHWAY DIPS AND UNDERPASSES.
REMEMBER...MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES ATTEMPTING TO
CROSS FLOODED AREAS. RAPIDLY RISING WATER CAN EASILY CARRY A VEHICLE
AND ITS OCCUPANTS DOWN STREAM.
CHECK YOUR PREPAREDNESS REQUIREMENTS AND BE READY TO ACT IMMEDIATELY
