...Dangerous Weather Ahead...

GOOD MORNING! Alright folks. We are talking some serious weather in Alabama on this Easter weekend. Alabama and the Deep South will be under the gun between now and Sunday night with a rare combination of meteorological ingredients coming together for what could be a significant outbreak of severe weather.

ROUND 1: Actually, we will have some preliminaries today in two phases. Storms will form along a warm front moving northward today. Some of those could be strong to severe. More storms will fire over the rest of Central and North Alabama with the heating of a strong late March sun during the afternoon.

A powerful upper trough will begin to push towards us overnight tonight, and this will set the stage for a round of very severe storms overnight. We think that the 8 pm tonight though 8 am Sunday time frame will be the most active, including the threat of long track dangerous tornadoes across Central and South Central Alabama.

Unfortunately, Sunday morning sunrise services look doubtful, and planner should be taking steps to move such activities into sturdy facilities and have active severe weather monitoring and safety programs operations.

ROUND 2: Behind the Saturday night storms, sunshine will break out Sunday, leading to destabilization and another round of strong to severe storms around lunch time. These storms could also become severe. These storms could be occurring during late morning services at area churches, and again, operation severe weather plans should be in effect.

LISTEN UP PLEASE: All Alabama residents should take this developing weather situation very seriously. We fear that we could dealing with tornadoes today and dangerous strong to violent tornadoes during the overnight hours tonight, when many people would be asleep. This will be the kind of weekend will it will be critical to have a reliable source of severe weather information. We cannot stress enough the importance of preparation and information during the weekend.
