WEATHER CONTINUES TO CHANGE: Looks like no type weather will corner
the market in our area for at least the next week. It will be different
almost every day. Please check our day-by-day forecast for all of the
details, but here it is in a nutshell:

Occasional light rain tonight ending real late. Temperatures may get
cold enough before all of the moisture moves out to cause a light rain/light
snow mix over extreme North Alabama. Some sunshine by tomorrow afternoon, a
slight chance of light rain again on Friday, a breezy dry and warmer day for
Saturday, but a chance of light rain again on Sunday as another cold front
moves through.

A weak low pressure area was moving east through East Arkansas and
North Mississippi this afternoon. It had spread a thick layer of clouds
across our area and light rain was spreading eastward also. Some of the rain
was not reaching the ground, but it will eventually.

ROAMING AIMLESSLY: A hot 90 degrees in Palm Springs, California
yesterday...18 below zero at Land O Lakes, Wisconsin this morning...the most
miserable weather, however, was in New England where blizzard conditions
occurred yesterday and last night...winds overnight gusted as high as 70
mph., lots of trees and power lines down over Eastern Massachusetts...as
much as 8 inches of snow accumulated, of course piling up in big drifts in
Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire...the average depth around
Boston around 4 inches...a weather buoy SE of Cape Cod reported 18-foot
waves...atop Mt. Washington, New Hampshire the temperature dropped to 18
below while west winds were gusting to 106 mph giving a wind chill of 64
below zero...coldest in Alaska this morning 20 below at Anaktuvuk
Pass...here in Alabama, a few snowflakes were reported yesterday morning at
Steele in northern St. Clair County...one of the colder temperatures in
Alabama this morning was 27 at Ft. Payne...a whopping 18 inches of snow on
the ground this morning atop Mt. LeConte in the Great Smokies with a low of
2 above...12 inches of snow on Mt. Mitchell, North Carolina and 7 inches on
Newfound Gap.

MY TINY CORNER OF THE WORLD: I always get dressed immediately when
I first get up...but this time, I didn't put on my shoes. I goofed. Little
Miss Molly got up and found them. I'm going to have to buy her a pair of
human shoes for Christmas. She pulled out both shoelaces, even though they
fit tightly. She also dug into one of my shoes and ripped the entire inner
sole. She has a shoe addiction like I used to have to brown sugar/cinnamon
Pop Tarts and doughnuts...I can only have those once a year now. I had a few
doughnuts at the Severe Storms Symposium at Mississippi State last
weekend...Molly and I sure enjoyed our walk this morning. I am convinced
that two birds were carrying on a conversation with each other. Molly and I
sure do enjoy the simple things in life. Hope you do too, because one of
these days, you may look back and realize that those were the BIG things.
Life goes on even with my shoes under repeated attack by my pal, Miss Molly.
We bond more every day if that is possible.
