THINKING OF BUILDING A NEW HOME?
CONSIDER THE COST OF HEATING AND COOLING THAT HOME!

High winter heating bills surprised a lot of people last year and took a
deep bite out of many paychecks. There is a solution that cuts these
utility bills by up to 80% -- building your new home with ICF Technology, or
let us Spray Foam seal your existing home.

Our exterior walls can withstand 250 mile per hour winds, include furring
strips for sheetrock attachment, and create an almost soundproof
environment, all at no extra charge!

Come see us at the Spring Home and Garden Show, March 10-13, 2005.
Advanced Construction Design can do it all: basements, first floor, second
floor, and complete homes!

...Chilly Weather Ahead...

GOOD MORNING! Every square inch of Alabama received rain on Sunday,
thanks to a low pressure system over the Gulf of Mexico. Most rainfall
amounts were moderate, in the three quarters of an inch category, but some
locations over Northwest Alabama saw one to nearly three inches, according
to radar estimates, with a bulls eye over eastern Colbert County. Parts of
Jefferson, Blount, Walker and southern Cullman Counties picked up over an
inch, as did parts of East Central Alabama. The low pressure system is
going crazy along the East Coast this morning and we will experience a windy
day as a result. I had hoped for a little clearing by late in the day, but
it looks like it will have to wait until tonight. In fact, we will still
deal with a good chance of showers and light rain during the day. Skies
should clear tonight, but we could see a few snow flurries...

THE WEATHER WEEK AHEAD: Skies should dawn sunny on Tuesday. But
even though it will be mostly sunny, cold air flowing into the area on brisk
northwest winds will keep readings in the 40s tomorrow. A disturbance to
our west may bring clouds on Wednesday, but good rain chances will hold off
until the weekend, at least. Temperatures will remain below normal for the
better part of the next two weeks.

ON THIS DATE IN 1987: Huge Mississippi F4 tornado cut a 35-mile
path on a Saturday morning from near Moselle to west of Shubuta. Southeast
of Laurel, the tornado was 1 1/2 miles wide and reached F4 intensity. The
Glade Elementary School was almost completely destroyed, but school luckily
was not in session since it was the weekend. All six deaths occurred in
Glade, and four of those were in one trailer. One man was killed as he ran
to warn a neighbor of the approaching storm. This type of tornado would
have killed 50-100 people before modern warning systems. 350 people were
injured.

WARNINGS DEBATE: I would like to start a little debate over on the
Weather Talk side this morning. It involves the criteria for severe
thunderstorm warnings. Please join in the discussion on the Weather talk
Blog.
