...Wet Weather Starts Sunday...

Today and Saturday should be dry across Alabama but a significant
period of wet weather is ahead after that.

We should see some showers showing up Saturday night. However, the
best chance of rain will be Sunday and Monday and probably Tuesday. A cold
front will make an effort to reach North Alabama by Tuesday morning. There
are indications that the front will then stall and hang around near the
Tennessee River.

This overall wet weather system will affect mainly the north half of
Alabama. The heaviest rainfall amounts will be over the north third of the
state. How much rain? Seems reasonable that some areas will receive between
one and two inches.

After the freeze early this morning, temperatures will be on the
rise with no more threats of a freeze through at least the middle of next
week.

SNOW FIELD DECREASING: At one time this winter there was a vast
snow field to our north that extended all the way down to Kentucky and
Tennessee. This helped hold daytime temperatures down in Alabama. Now, there
is a lack of snow on the ground until you get far to the north. In fact, you
would have to travel to Wisconsin, and Michigan. There is little or no snow
cover in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska and even South Dakota.

MY TINY CORNER OF THE WORLD: With only one person in our household
all this week, Little Miss Molly has made sure that she captured more than
usual attention from me. I have tried to play with her much more than usual
and we have enjoyed many walks. If anything, she and I have bonded even
more. Life goes on and I love every minute of it. A little 9-pound puppy can
really be company.
