...A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM CST
SUNDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOBILE HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER
ADVISORY TONIGHT FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI...SOUTHWEST
ALABAMA AND NORTHWEST FLORIDA.

COUNTIES IN THE ADVISED AREA ARE...IN SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI...STONE
AND GEORGE COUNTIES. IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA...MOBILE...BALDWIN...
ESCAMBIA...COVINGTON...CONECUH...BUTLER AND CRENSHAW COUNTIES. IN
NORTHWEST FLORIDA...INTERIOR PORTIONS OF ESCAMBIA...SANTA ROSA...AND
OKALOOSA COUNTIES.

AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TRACKING EASTWARD
ACROSS THE NORTH CENTRAL GULF TONIGHT...AND WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE
AREAS OF RAIN THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY MORNING ALONG THE CENTRAL GULF
COAST REGION. WITH COLD AIR IN PLACE...MOST OF THE AREA CAN EXPECT
THE RAIN TO BE MIXED WITH SLEET AND SNOW AT TIMES. THE TRACK OF THE
UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE INDICATES THE HEAVIER PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS
WILL BE OVER THE COASTAL SECTIONS AND GENERALLY ALONG AND EAST OF
THE I-65 CORRIDOR.

ALTHOUGH NO SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATION OF SLEET OR SNOW IS
EXPECTED...THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY OF SOME LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS ON
SIDEWALKS...GRASSY AREAS...AS WELL AS BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES. THE
MAIN THREAT WILL BE DURING THE EARLY MORNING HOURS AS THE SURFACE
TEMPERATURES FALL AT OR BELOW FREEZING.

THE PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO DIMINISH ACROSS SOUTHEAST
MISSISSIPPI AND THE MOBILE AREA BY MIDNIGHT...AND IS EXPECTED TO
MOVE EAST OF THE CRESTVIEW...ANDALUSIA...LUVERNE AREAS BY 4 AM. AS
THE UPPER LOW PASSES TO THE SOUTHEAST OVERNIGHT...TEMPERATURES WILL
DROP BELOW THE FREEZING MARK FOR MOST AREAS. ANY STANDING WATER OR
WET SPOTS LEFT ON BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES COULD FREEZE...CAUSING ICY
SLICK SPOTS THROUGH SUNRISE SUNDAY MORNING.

REMEMBER...A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SNOW...SLEET AND
OR ICE IS FORECAST TO DEVELOP IN THE AFFECTED AREAS...BUT
ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE GENERALLY LIGHT. THE MAIN ACCUMULATION HAZARD
WILL BE ON BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES. MOTORISTS SHOULD BE ESPECIALLY
CAREFUL TONIGHT AS SLIPPERY SPOTS CAN EASILY DEVELOP AND MAKE FOR
HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.

STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO AND OTHER LOCAL MEDIA FOR FURTHER
DETAILS OR UPDATES.
