...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM CST SUNDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOBILE HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER
ADVISORY TONIGHT FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI...SOUTHWEST
ALABAMA AND NORTHWEST FLORIDA.

COUNTIES IN THE ADVISED AREA ARE...IN SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI...STONE
AND GEORGE COUNTIES. IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA...MOBILE...BALDWIN...

AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE TRACKING ACROSS THE NORTH CENTRAL GULF
WILL INTERACT WITH A SURFACE LOW OVER THE CENTRAL GULF TO PRODUCE
AREAS OF RAIN THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. WITH COLD AIR IN
PLACE...MOST OF THE AREA CAN EXPECT THE RAIN TO BE MIXED WITH SLEET
AND SNOW AT TIMES. THE TRACK OF THE UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE
INDICATES THE HEAVIER PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS WILL BE OVER THE COASTAL
SECTIONS AND GENERALLY ALONG AND EAST OF THE I-65 CORRIDOR.

ALTHOUGH NO SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATION OF SLEET OR SNOW IS
EXPECTED...THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY OF SOME LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS
ACROSS ELEVATED SURFACES...ESPECIALLY BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES. THE
MAIN THREAT WILL BE FROM MID EVENING THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY MORNING AS
THE SURFACE TEMPERATURES FALL AT OR BELOW FREEZING. THE RAIN IS
EXPECTED TO PUSH EAST OF THE AREA BY 4 AM SUNDAY MORNING...BUT ANY
STANDING WATER OR WET SPOTS ON BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES COULD CONTINUE
TO CAUSE SLIPPERY CONDITIONS THROUGH SUNRISE SUNDAY MORNING.

REMEMBER...A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SNOW...SLEET AND
OR ICE IS FORECAST TO DEVELOP IN THE AFFECTED AREAS...BUT
ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE GENERALLY LIGHT. THE MAIN ACCUMULATION THREAT
WILL BE ON BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES. MOTORISTS SHOULD BE ESPECIALLY
CAREFUL TONIGHT AS SLIPPERY SPOTS CAN EASILY DEVELOP AND MAKE FOR
HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.

STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO AND OTHER LOCAL MEDIA FOR FURTHER
DETAILS OR UPDATES.
