...Warm Up To Continue...

GOOD MORNING! Our run of nice weather will continue for the next
few days as high pressure remains the dominant feature in our forecast
through Thursday. Skies will be mostly sunny again today. The abundant
sunshine and return of southerly winds will allow temperatures to rise into
the middle to upper 50s. Skies will become partly cloudy tomorrow and
mostly cloudy on Thursday as moisture levels increase. A chance of showers
will return on Friday as a cold front approaches, but will be more likely on
Saturday. I still think that New Years Eve celebrations will be mostly dry.

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL? The Crimson Tide travels to
Nashville Friday for a Music City Bowl tilt with Minnesota. There will be a
chance of showers, but the chances are on the small side. Temperatures will
range between 58-62 during the game. Roll Tide! Auburn will be in New
Orleans for a January 3rd date in the Sugar Bowl. At first glance, things
look showery. But it is the city that care forgot, and the game is indoors,
so who cares if it is a little damp? Go Tigers!

ON THIS DATE IN 2001: An unbelievable five day lake effect snow
blitz started in Buffalo NY on Christmas Eve 2001, when 25.2 inches of snow
fell in 24 hours, making it the third highest 24 hour snowfall total for the
city and just one tenth of an inch from second place. After a break late on
Christmas Day, the intense band of lake effect snow meandered back across
the city, dumping another 29.6 inches of snow between 7pm on the 26th and
7pm on the 27th, establishing the second place mark for 24 hour snowfall.
12 hours later, that record would be pushed back to third place as a
whopping 24 hour total of 35.4 inches was recorded, just shy of the all time
24 hour total of 37.9 inches in December 1985. But the five day total of
82.3 inches is far and away an all-time record, more than in any other
single MONTH in Buffalo and very close to their seasonal average of 93
