MORE QUICK CHANGES: As you probably noticed overnight, our weather made
another quick turnaround. We awoke to stormy conditions and very heavy
rainfall. Continuing the quick change routine, we will see a cold front move
through overnight bringing cooler temperatures. However, the rain will not
completely end as we expect still a chance of showers tonight and a little
bit of left over light rain or drizzle Friday.

A tornado watch was in effect for 27 counties in Central and West Alabama
this morning. We don't have any confirmed reports of a tornado touchdown,
although a tornado warning was in effect early today for Pickens and
Tuscaloosa Counties. We are always reluctant to down play any possible
damage this early in the game, because often delayed damage reports come in
from remote areas.

Flash flooding was also a problem again today. Places like Huntsville had a
Flash Flood Warning. We saw John Gordon, the Meteorologist in Charge of the
Huntsville NWS Forecast Office yesterday. We told him that we have
designated the Tennessee Valley as the Flash Flood Capitol of the USA. Not
trying to be funny, because it is not a funny matter, but they have really
caught it lately. At Huntsville Airport, an additional 1.61 inches of rain
had fallen by 6 o'clock this morning. Doppler radar estimates over 3 inches
in Southern Lamar and extreme NW Pickens County.

AN OVERALL PATTERN CHANGE? We think we will see fewer severe weather events
in the near future as out weather takes on a colder trend. By Monday
afternoon, a fast moving cold front will move across Alabama. Behind the
front will be a sprawling 1040 millibar high pressure area. Tuesday will
also be windy and much colder. We believe we will have the lowest
temperatures so far this season by Tuesday night and Wednesday morning as
temperatures bottom out in the mid-20s across Central Alabama. Some of the
colder valleys could even have 22 or 23. Some north Alabama communities
might not get out of the 30s on Tuesday, with wind chill values below
freezing much of the day.

THURSDAY THOUGHTS: Warmest yesterday was 85 in Harlingen, Texas and coldest
in the lower 48 this morning was 15 at Caribou and Frenchville, Maine.

MY TINY CORNER OF THE WORLD: Have had zero time to spend with little Miss
Molly today and she lets us know it. She has gone from one to the other,
standing on her hind legs and putting her front paws as high up on us as she
can begging for attention...hope to spend some time with her this afternoon
and play catch up...did play some games late last night with her, including
tug rope, kick ball and chase ball. When I went to bed around 11, she had 13
of her toys scattered across the living area and even at 11:00 p.m. she
grabbed one when I started toward the bedroom wanting to play. -Life goes
on.
