...Milder Afternoons Ahead...

Dry weather continues to headline our forecast for the next 48 hours with
milder afternoons. A few mid and high level clouds will drift by from time
to time today and tomorrow, but a pretty decent amount of sunshine should
get through making for more pleasant fall weather.

To the west, a storm system over northern Mexico is finally on the move.
This has been producing very heavy rain across much of Texas during the past
two days, and as it approaches late this week clouds will begin to increase
on Friday, and we will introduce the risk of showers beginning on Friday
afternoon. We will maintain the chance of a few passing showers into the
weekend, but the storm system will weaken and pass well to the north of
Alabama, so rain totals should not be all that heavy.

IRON BOWL: For Saturday's game in Tuscaloosa where Alabama will host Auburn
(2:30 p.m. kickoff), the sky should be mostly cloudy and a passing shower is
possible during the game. Temperatures will fall from near 70 at kickoff
into the low to mid 60s by the fourth quarter.

THANKSGIVING WEEK: The longer range guidance is now suggest a fairly strong
cold front will pass through the state Tuesday night, which should bring a
significant rain event in here on Tuesday, followed by much colder air just
in time for Wednesday and Thanksgiving day. Some parts of Alabama could see
early morning temperatures below freezing on Thanksgiving morning. The
biggest shopping day of the year on Friday (November 26) at this point looks
dry and cool with ample sunshine. But, we caution you there is not much
skill in a specific weather forecast beyond seven days, so all of this is
subject to change. Stay tuned!
