NICE AUTUMN WEATHER CONTINUES: Thanks to a big high pressure area that was
centered early today over North Georgia, Alabama will have at least two or
three more days of very pleasant mid-November weather. Because of that high
pressure area and light winds overnight, it dropped to near freezing in NE
Alabama. There was some scattered light frost even as far south as
Trussville where I estimated the low at my house this morning to be about

34. Here are some of the official lows:
32 in Ft. Payne and DeSoto State Park
33 in Anniston
36 in Meridianville and Pinson
38 in Decatur
41 at Birmingham Airport
43 in Tuscaloosa

OUR NEXT RAIN: As that high pressure area breaks down and moves on east, a
southerly wind flow will set in across Alabama. Eventually this will bring
us an increase in moisture. At this time we think some showers will show up
by Friday night. We look for mostly cloudy conditions on Saturday with a
chance of showers and possibly even a thunderstorm. We are cognizant of a
special event taking place in Tuscaloosa at 2:30 Saturday afternoon. We will
be more specific on our football forecast later, but at this time we think
there will be a risk of some showers and with a temperature at kick off
about 72 degrees.

TUESDAY WRAP UP: While Alabama has been blessed with good weather for a
long time, other parts of the country are not so lucky. It has been a
miserable week in places like New Mexico, Central and West Texas. Some very
heavy rainfall totals for the week in Texas and there have been a lot flash
flood incidents. Overnight there were more flash flood warnings issued for
parts of West Texas around Midland and Odessa, for example...it was a cold
morning over the NE states with temperatures in the teens in part of
Maine...in the Texas Panhandle where there has been two occasions of very
early accumulating snow the past week, it is pouring rain throughout that
area today...the warmest temperature in the nation yesterday afternoon was
85 at Brownsville, down on the southern tip of Texas and also at Santa Ana,
California.

MY TINY CORNER OF THE WORLD: I did a great job of making up with Miss Molly
late yesterday and last night. A lot of lengthy play sessions...she likes to
grab her newest toy, which is a doggie soccer ball with tug ropes attached,
and try to keep it away from me. She expects me to chase her throughout the
house...last night, after about 10 minutes of that, I never could catch her.
The little rascal paces herself to stay about two steps ahead of me. Both
our little tongues were literally hanging out...we also had wrestling
sessions, kick ball, you name it. As soon as I went to bed, she jumped up on
the bed so tired that she simply plopped down and went to sleep. There was
none of that turning in circles like a dog does before lying down. When
Molly got up at 6 this morning, she seemed friendlier. I am sure she
remembered all the playing from last night. Life goes on and it is
great-exhausted or rested!
