Details are a little complex over the next three days, but the bottom line
is that we are still looking at the coolest air of the season in here by the
end of the week.
Today, we will mention only an outside risk of a shower with little in the
day of dynamic forcing. The sun will break out at times, but temperatures
will be cooler with highs only in the mid 60s along with a cool westerly
breeze.
A stronger front is now forecast to pass through Alabama late tomorrow
night. Clouds will thicken tomorrow, and a period of showers and possibly a
thunderstorm is likely late tomorrow and tomorrow night. Then, the showers
will end early in the day on Friday, with much cooler air rolling into the
state during the day Friday. It looks like the best chance of showers will
come from about 5:00 tomorrow afternoon through 7:00 a.m. Friday.
Temperatures will hold in the 50s for much of the day on Friday, with a
chilly breeze out of the northwest. It now looks like our coolest morning
will come early Saturday, with low temperatures into the mid 40s over most
of north and central Alabama.
NEXT WEEK: Another front will slip in here early next week with another
chance of showers Monday night into Tuesday.
TUESDAY'S RAIN: Rain totals around Alabama yesterday included .90" at
Hamilton, .62" at Black Creek (in Etowah county near Gadsden), and .55" at
Clanton. At the ABC 33/40 Weather Center in Riverchase, our total was only
0.03".
TIME CHANGE: We go back on standard time at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 31.
The sunset time on October 31 will be 4:56 p.m. CST, so trick or treaters
can get an early start.
