...The Chance of Rain Stays Small...
The chance of rain will stay quite small around here through the weekend,
despite a cold front that is expected in here tomorrow evening. We have
adjusted temperatures upward a bit for Sunday and Monday, as it now looks
like the really cool air won't arrive until a secondary front rolls through
on Monday night. Showers will remain very scarce with that second front as
well.
FOOTBALL WEATHER: Alabama will host South Carolina tomorrow evening (5:00
kickoff); just a very slim risk of a shower during the game, with the
kickoff temperature near 80, falling through the 70s during the game. Auburn
travels to Knoxville to play the Vols tomorrow evening at 6:45; temperatures
will drop from about 70 at kickoff into the 60s during the game. Just a
small risk of a shower at Neyland Stadium.
UAB will be on the road, taking on Cincinnati at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow. The
weather will be cool and breezy with a chance of showers, and temperatures
in the 60s.
RACE WEEKEND: At the Talladega Superspeedway, only about a one in ten chance
of a brief shower tomorrow for the Food World 300. Then, on Sunday for the
EA Sports 500, the sky should be partly sunny with temperatures peaking
around 80 degrees.
TROPICS: Two disturbances are worth watching over the weekend; one in the
central Caribbean, and the other in the Atlantic about 400 miles east of the
Windward Islands. And, tropical storm Lisa continues to drift around in the
north Atlantic not bothering anyone.
COLDER DAYS: Today's forecast high in Anchorage, AK is only 36 degrees.
Alabama's cold spot yesterday morning was Hartselle with a chilly 42
degrees.
