THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HUNTSVILLE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
MARSHALL COUNTY IN NORTHEAST ALABAMA
MADISON COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL ALABAMA
JACKSON COUNTY IN NORTHEAST ALABAMA
DEKALB COUNTY IN NORTHEAST ALABAMA

* UNTIL 400 AM CDT

* AT 128 AM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY RAINFALL
WAS BEGINNING TO SUBSIDE ACROSS THE AREA. HOWEVER...RUNOFF WAS
CONTINUING...AND FLOODING WAS STILL REPORTED IN SPORADIC LOCATIONS
ACROSS THE WARNING AREA.

IN MADISON COUNTY...RIVERS AND CREEKS HAVE RISEN DURING THE
EVENING...WITH INDIAN CREEK AT MADISON NEAR BANKFULL. IN MARSHALL
COUNTY...WATER WAS OVER A COUPLE BRIDGES IN ARAB...AND THE RIVER
GAGE ON SCARHAM CREEK NEAR MCVILLE WAS AT 11.2 FEET. IN DEKALB
COUNTY...SIGNIFICANT FLOODING WAS STILL OCCURRING...BUT BEGINNING TO
SUBSIDE...ON BIG WILLS CREEK NEAR FORT PAYNE. AT 1245 AM...THE STAGE
ON BIG WILLS CREEK WAS 13.3 FEET AND STILL RISING. THIS IS JUST
BELOW THE LEVELS OF MAY 2003. THE STAGE ON THE EAST FORK LITTLE
RIVER AT DESOTO STATE PARK WAS 16.0 FEET...AND WATER WAS REPORTEDLY
NEARLY OVER THE BRIDGE AT ALPINE CAMP. IN JACKSON COUNTY...FLOODING
WAS REPORTED IN PAINT ROCK AND BRYANT...AND ON HIGHWAY 71 ON SAND
MOUNTAIN.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED...
ACT QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE RISING WATERS!
