...Another Hint of Fall...
GOOD MORNING! By the time we sort everything out this morning, more records will have fallen across much of the United States, including Alabama, as cool high pressure remains in control off much of the nationÂs weather. WeÂll detail some of the most notable records in the afternoon edition. Did you enjoy the sky last evening at sunset? With no haze, it positively looked like fall!
HELP! FINGERS...LOCKED...CANÂT TYPE....ANYMORE... It has been a fun week filling in for James while he was on Âvacation. You would know that a hurricane would happen during his week off. Of course, next thing you know, there is a convoy of ABC3340 trucks heading south. ThatÂs my kind of vacation. It has been fun writing for you all week, especially with the millions of web updates on Bonnie and Charley. Thanks for putting up with my ramblings. Did you know that you can hear James on radio stations all over the country? I was lucky enough to get to do Jacksonville, FL and Brunswick, GA this week, along with a couple of others.
CHARLEY: Hurricane Charley is skimming along the South Carolina coast, heading for an early afternoon landfall near Myrtle Beach. Charley will continue north northeastward along the entire East Coast, finally pushing into Nova Scotia by Tuesday. Charley will maintain tropical storm force all the way to the Chesapeake.
TROPICS: By the time you read this we will probably have tropical storm Danielle, and maybe Earl! TD#5 (Earl? Danielle) has the best chance to be a problem, heading toward the western Caribbean by midweek.
OH, THE WEATHER... Nearly forgot...I am supposed to tell you the forecast. Lots of sunshine through Tuesday, partly cloudy by midweek, a chance of showers Thursday and Friday. Near record lows again Sunday morning, then readings begin t moderate. Highs will be near 90 after Monday, but lows will be slower to moderate courtesy of low dew points that will be with us until midweek.
