WEATHERSHIELD Cleaning & Restoration Services

It's that time of year again! Everyone is heading outside to enjoy their
deck, grilling out, and hanging out at the pool. If you are like everyone
else, you have big plans for the summer. As you think about those things,
you're probably thinking that your deck needs some work. That's why
you need to call us.

We are a professional company that specializes in restoring your deck,
privacy fence, or any natural wood product to a condition you can be proud
of. Our unique process includes mixing our own cleaning chemicals, vigorous

pressure washing, and applying our special wood preservative. Our
preservative completely seals the wood to protect it from all weather
elements for years to come. It outlasts anything you can buy off the shelf
in stores. Once applied, you should never have to chemically clean and
pressure wash your wood again.

Join the hundreds of people that have allowed us to restore and protect
their investment. Call us and we will explain the process in more detail
and answer all of your questions. We'll be glad to give you a FREE
estimate. Don't forget to check out our web site to see our Before and
After Portfolio.

Out walking the dog at sunrise I could detect a slight drop in humidity.
That will become more noticeable by Saturday as drier air pushes all the way
to South Alabama. Mind you, it won't be like the Arizona desert but it will
make it a little more comfortable.

Another big plus-no pesky thunderstorms to deal with. We should enjoy the
next 36 hours because this will not last long. We look for a rise in
humidity Sunday with scattered thunderstorms showing up in the afternoon.
That will become the daily weather menu for the rest of next week with daily
high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.

LAST NIGHT'S STORMS: A cluster of severe thunderstorms moved across
Tuscaloosa County between about 6:30 and 7:30. Hail one inch in diameter was
reported. The Tuscaloosa County EMA also listed about 10 reports of wind
damage-mostly downed trees and power lines. A warning was later issued for
Bibb County but the EMA reported no damage. Let's look at some impressive
rainfall amounts for the last 24 hours:

2.15 inches in Ashville
2.05 in Fayette
2.00 in Talladega
1.53 at Alexander City
1.75 at Cottondale (east side of Tuscaloosa)
1.50 in Huffman (NE edge of Birmingham)
1.12 in Center Point
0.77 in Anniston
0.85 in Roanoke
0.95 in Hackleburg (home of Sonny James)
0.80 at both Birmingham and Shelby County Airport
1.07 in Pinson

THE REST OF THE STORY: The air quality for the Birmingham Metro area was
Code Yellow again today, meaning moderate air quality...the tropics are
still relatively quiet...no storm formation anytime soon...heating up in the
desert...110 in Phoenix today and Saturday...hottest yesterday was 118 in
Death Valley...difficult to find any really chilly temperatures although it
was 29 in Pellston, Michigan and 28 in Deadhorse, Alaska...several days ago,
a woman sitting outside in Philadelphia was struck by lightning. She went
into cardiac arrest. It is amazing that she survived because the lightning
entered her head and exited through her foot.

MY TINY CORNER OF THE WORLD: I know I sometimes give the impression that I
have the best little puppy in the world. I sure don't mean to but Little
Miss Molly seems to get more and more enjoyable by the day. She is so funny
and entertaining-much more enjoyable than renting a movie for the VCR but
not quite as enjoyable as a big baked sweet potato...got a very nice email
today from a lady who has a Shih-tzu puppy named Ozzie. She said she has
owned dogs all her life but Ozzie is, by far, the funniest, most expressive
(in body language) and comical dog that she has ever owned. Sure sounds like
Molly...I expect Molly to start speaking English any day...by that time I
will probably be yapping like a dog...if I do I will still enjoy life...and
life goes merrily along. Nothing like it!
